Okay I will be checking for sure, I am going to assemble the heads and valvetrain on my 347 myself but I just wondered what the popular opinion is on this question.
Will I have sufficient clearance for my valves on this combo.
AFR185,s
347 with Probe SRS flat top pistons
FTI custom .565 lift cam hydraulic roller
1.6 comp cams pro magnum rockers

Well?
Oh and how much is enough clearance?

You'll need at least .080" intake and .100" exhaust. Are piston valve reliefs cut for the bigger valves in the 185's? The cam issue on clearance is related to duration, not lift. What's the duration of the cam; when is the intake at .050" lift on opening; when is the exhaust at .050" lift on closing?

With reliefs that big, you shouldn't have any edge of valve to edge of relief issues. Given that, you needn't use clay to measure, so it's really easy to do. We just measured a friend's who's trying to use milled E7's with a TFS II cam on an 86 shortblock (no reliefs). He's definitely got clearance issues on both sides - gonna have to cut the pistons. Good luck with your measuring.
