Ok well I am almost there. The heads are ready to go on and the guy who ported them for me checked the valve springs and told me they were good for 1.7RR's and a B cam. Do you guys think that they would be fine or do you think I really need upgraded valve springs.

If you are talking about stock heads and valve springs, then you are fine.

If it were me, since the heads are not yet on the car, I would just put some new springs on them.

You get some piece of mind that way knowing those parts are new.

Depending on your cam and valvetrain set-up, getting some new springs may not be a bad idea...

Well if you dont have confidence in the Gent who did the work I'd upgrade for piece of mind as Earl said... I dont recall reading anywhere where Ford states a spring upgrade is needed with their alphabet cams??? I would swap in new ones versus hi mile stock units myself...
I have Thumpers heads and Mike sent me a double spring upgrade for like 83.00. He's right in Jax and would prolly hook you up...

Well I do have confidence in him but since they are off the car just want to be safe. lol. But yeah they are stock springs. And just was wondering if I should replace them to any certain springs But maybe I will put in brand new stock springs. Is napa ok to get them from? And they are gt40p heads just fully ported. flowing between 220 and 230 cfm.

You should do it. It's not like they cost much. I got my trick flow springs for like $110.

Its not just about buying new springs. You need to also purchase retainers and locks. You do not use OEM retainers and locks with good aftermarket springs.
