I just need to know when checking for correct pushrod length what steps do I need to take. I know that I need soft springs so that the lifters don't collapse. I also know that I will need adjustable pushrods. But do I need to pull the lower intake off so I know if the lifter is collapsing. Or do I need to have some sort of solid lifter to do this procedure. Any help would be great, thank you...

Need more info?

What rockers, pushrods, cam and lifters are you talking about.

If the setup is right, there shouldn't be a problem. It would take a really tight spring to collapse a lifter.

I had summitt 1.7RR but changed to comp cam pro magnum 1.6RR and have not yet installed them. I have a reed cam with .544 lift w/1.6RR and .588 lift w/1.7RR. My pushrod length is 6.350 w/comp cam lifters. Heads are AFR 185 from ed curtis at flowtech induction. He has been trying to help me with this noise since I dropped it in back in december. I have checked the complete oiling system by manually operating it.
