Been looking into boosting my fox for the last 6 months. I found a really good deal on a practically new V3 sci base model kit (currently only making 5lbs). Is it pretty straight forward for me to just swap pullies to hit 8-12lb range?
More than pulley changes would likely be needed. The Sci is certainly capable of the higher level boost. But lets say the entire combo was properly tuned for 5psi. Then you change the pulley(s) to basically double that. The fuel delivery system will also need to be modified again to match the added boost. Too much boost with lack of adequate fuel will lean out and...............boom! Blow up
Thanks for the help. I actually just pulled the trigger on a used V2 S trim in great shape. Comes with everything - 42lb injectors, Aero 340 pump, Pmass 95mm maf, power pipe, larger race bracket and Reichard Racing 3.1 and 6.75 pullies. Claims to make roughly 12lbs of boost but I’m going to try and switch the pullies to aim for 8-10.

You're going to love it. I installed my V3 last winter and had a blast with it all summer. I'm making 10psi. It really wakes up these 302's. Just make sure you get a good tune.
What’s the status on the engine itself? Specifically the head gaskets. Unless they’re near perfect with no warping in head or block surfaces, head gasket problems are common on these engines when boosted.
The boost increases cylinder pressure quite substantially. Any weaknesses in the head gaskets will let combustion pressure leak into the water jacket. Then the coolant gets forced out the radiator overflow. Obviously bad for the engine if it overheats but can also be dangerous if you’re getting on it. Coolant gets blow back under the rear tires and loosing control of the car can happen

As far as I know they’re good...there’s about 45k on the motor since it was built. ARP Hardware and Felpro Wirelock head gaskets. Debating on how much boost I should run and if I can get away with just swapping to a 3.3 pulley or if I should run it how it is and conservative tune. Also should I switch up my TB ? Currently just running a 65mm
