dang, those stage 2 cams sounds even better. i want a set of stage 2 cams but i read some where that if u don't have a least port and polished heads, they wont do much better then the stage 1 cams. and since i wont be doing that any time soon, like 3-4 years,.... i think stage ones would be better for now. what else would i need to do to my car to get the best out of these cams. i know 4.10's out back and long tubes and a good tune, but any thing else?? oh yeah by the way, i'm new to the message board, but i've been reading up here for the past few months. thanks

Here's a dyno of an '00 GT with nothing but weld-in Flowmasters and VT Stage IIs. Don't short-change yourself with cams. Why do it twice?

Wow. They have the specs of the VT Stage IIs on the VT website.

VT Stage II N/A cams

SOHC-Hot street cam, needs 3.55+ gears. 2400+ stall. Intake, exhaust, computer and spring upgrade recommended. Agressive idle. RPM range 3000-6500+.

.560/.575 lift
225/235 .050 dur
270/282 adv dur
108 LSA

The only Comp XE278AHs I've ever heard about being installed were on built short-blocks with notched pistons. Its not the lift, but the duration. Even if correctly degreed with and OEM shortblock, its going to be a really close fit or you may have PTV. Kind of a crapshoot.

The valves hit the pistons I think someone said due to the long duration.
I do have 17cc dished CP pistons. I also had the heads ported.

Biggests doesnt always mean more power. When you get bigger cams, remember your power band will change. Usually makes it change to higher up in your RPM range.

I have the Stage II's and I didnt have to fly cut my pistons. I have flat top pistons and had plenty of clearance.

Any sound clip of the blower cams? Or does anyone know if they sound closer to the Stage 1's or Stage 2's?

I got the cams & springs brand new for $500. A girl in my mustang club traded her 90 GT for a 98 GT. She got the cams in a trade. She wanted new wheels for the car & only wanted $500 so I got 'em cheap.
