Well, I'd ask VT directly but haven't been able to get an answer or message returned for the last week. Don't know how I'd ever order anything...

Anyway, does anyone know if their stage I or II heads come with their custom cams?

Also, a critique on my current buildup plans would be nice. I will most likely be getting:

1. SHM forged rotating assembly (cobra crank, manley pistons and rods, SHM moly piston rings). 10.5:1 CR. 10cc dish.

2. VT stage II heads w/ n/a cams

3. 100-150 shot delivered by NOSzle kit.

4. Possibly a dss level 10 block if it is worth it???

I know many of you don't like SHM, but these are good parts and mostly the same as anywhere else except they are a lot cheaper.

Is the nos too low? Pretty safe???

Has anyone seen any real improvement from a DSS level 10 like block (full race prep, blueprinted... they claim 20-30 rwhp)

What are the downsides to a stroker (longetivity wise, not power wise)? I have searched and searched but can't find any decent write-ups. KenB's looks pretty strong.

I should see 380rwhp or better w/ a good set of L/T's, no?

Thanks for all the help.

No, the cams do not come with the heads.

1) I'll try and keep negative comments out of this so I won't comment on SHM but I will say that there are way too many other, better options.

Modular Peformance
Boss330
Fox Lake
VT

2)Good choice

3)Not a fan of the Nozzle kit.

4)See number 1

We just finished a stroker buildup that turned out pretty nice. But it's probably no secret that I'm not a fan of stroked 4.6L's. I prefer staying with the 4.6L or maybe going with a big bore.

Not sure if you brought up my name because you are familar with my car or you just saw my recent post about the VT stroker and P-51 car. That car is not mine, it's a customers. Mine was a .020 over 4.6L Fox Lake built setup.

If I were building another 2V I would go back to Fox Lake. They built my 2V longblock and no one has ever made more power or gone quicker or faster with a 2V 4.6L That's enough to sell me, how about you?

i duno about SHM, I've heard that they have been screwing people lately, but that may just be rumor - hopefully someone can correct me if im wrong. you can pick up a VT stroker long block for like 7 or 8 grand according to vtengines.com. You might also want to look into a modular power house stroker long block, check here http://modularpowerhouse.com/product_info.php?cPath=21_26&products_id=112&osCsid=dfd4073230477f91f67dde9226498734 Ask TweekedGT, he just put a VT 302 stroker into his '96

PM me your name and # and I'll call you. I don't have any messages from last week, so I'm not sure what happened. Sorry 'bout that.

1) not fond of the nos.. but its all good..

2) not fond of shm..

3) have a major devine hatred for d.s.s. and there "high" quality stuff

as stated before there are many other options.. modular performance would be who i would call.. and yes they answer there phone.. all the time...

I have almost the exact setup. You'll see around 330rwhp na unfortunately. For running bigger shots, I don't know of any safer kits than the nozzle. I blew my intake to pieces running a 200 shot on a single nozzle.
