VTA Cnty - Who's going to Buttonwillow?

I thought you looked like a drag queen!!

Is that why you didn't bring a girl to the BBQ?
 :rlaugh: :rlaugh:
Just messin' with you bro.

I brought a girl to the Round Table Meet that you didn't make it to.

I feel like I'm more likely to hurt the car road racing than drag racing... and those prices are a bit too steep for me.

Halloween is on Sunday we will be back Saturday evening. You could run up Saturday and still make the festivities?

Guess I should have been a bit more clear... going up to SB on Saturday afternoon for the remainder of the weekend..

and I have to deal with a garage sale here tomorrow morning... dad barking orders at me for a few hours will be a big :notnice:

Just giving you a hard time.I am still stuck at home since the wife does not know how to listen and took the Cobra to work. I want to get that damn thing dyno'd so we have a base line with just the CAI and CB.

omg buttonwillow was awesome. slidemaster, alan at barber ford, took me for a few hotlaps in my buddy randy's 04 kenne bell mystichrome. all i can say is wow. we were hauling past lightnings and eaton cobras like they were standing still. the blower whine was amazing. the SVT engineer that was there, head of the engine program for the 07 cobra, was simply amazing. i talked with him for a good 45 minutes about mustangs, and all other cars in general. the event was awesome. forget drag racing, road racing is where its at.

Yes the event was awesome. Now I know what to build for, just need to get a dedicted car for track events as the vert would be too much work and not stiff enough. However, I did end up buying some Maximum Motorsports Full length SFC's and the strut tower bar, should help a little. Can someone say garage party.

Rusty, how are your welding skills? Can you lend a brother a hand? We can talk about it at the GTG this Thursday. I will DEFINATELY be doing more events like this. Good job to all those involved.

Joe

Buttonwillow was awesome! I am not sure who was who from the boards here. I did meet Randy and check out his Mystichrome.

I was the one with a Mystichrome also with no license plate still and the new car "plate" from Mossy if you remember seeing me.

And I agree, road racing like that has got to be tons funner then Dragging.

When's next event?

Ken

Not sure when the next event is but I will be going. I must say I was REALLY impressed with those little Focus's out there, gave it up in the straightsbut would catch up in the corners. WOW!!

Man what an event!!! Im still high from it....Enjoyed Randy's Cobra, while coaching but being able to hot lap it was great. :D

Mustangs and fast ford shot the event for an article...I hot lapped the art director as he shot pictures. So perhaps something will make the mag from the shoot....also had a real nice problem on Sat...was appoached by Bill Jones (marketing VP for Ford racing) for some hot laps in the Ford Racing Orange Cobra, as Im talking, David Conrey (Art director)appoaches me with this 25 yr old model ...and asks if I would give her hop laps...hmmmmmm

Ford VP in a Ford Racing media car or Hot model in my car??? What would you do??

She was a good passenger

One of the guys that I lapped I believe went out and bought a car...Randy e-mailed me to say that he is caging his. Our little group of great guys is getting bigger.

I agree that the SVT Focus is amasing...Coached a funny guy from Scotland in a Black one....he ended up fastest in group 2...chased down the lead instructor in a Rental Crown Vic.

Great long term memories!! Thanks to those that experianced SVT on track

hey i finally bought a mustang. i went up monday night to Perry Ford in SLO and bought a 98 GT coupe 5 speed. its my first mustang and my first stick shift car. the ride in randys cobra you gave me convinced me to pull the trigger and get a stang. im looking forward, after i get the whole getting the car moving thing down, to going out on a road course and having my own fun. im planning on getting a MM panhard bar, and front and rear shock tower braces for my first round of mods. i also am gonna do a PI headswap, and that will be it for power mods for a while. this is a very expensive hobby that ive thrown myself into.

EDIT: that chic you took on hotlaps was friggin hot  do you know if randys cobra made it into any of the MM&FF shots?

Okay, This is my first post over at this Forum. I must say that Saturday flat out kicked AZZ. I'm definetly hooked on road racing. This has convinced me to keep the IRS in the Cobra. I will still do drag racing as I still enjoy that, but this is something else. Thank you Allen for some excellent driving instruction. You are a damn good driver. I'm envious! Now look what I have to do. Suspension and brake mods!!! The cage is going in as we speak, so I will be kosher on that front. I just hope that the money doesn't dry up I'M NOT DONE YET!!!

Oh, Ken it was nice meeting you over at Buttonwillow. It was cool to be able to park the Mystichromes next to each other. If you go on that Rosebowl road cruise on the 13th we can do that again!

Come on down to StangNite in Camarillo this Thursday if you can. Would really like to see that cage you are getting done. If not post pics.
