I don't have any advice for you, but just to let you know, I kept my stang for college. I live in Northern VA and go to school down in VA Tech. Stang has made plenty trips up and down and it's already got about 80k miles on it. I've only had to fill the tank once one way. I keep it easy on the gas and stay at 80 most of the time, gas mileage really is not that bad on these cars. I drive it around campus probably 5 times a week haven't filled up the tank since the end of Spring break (2 weeks ago).
So yeah, just wanted to present you with my perspective. I was in your situation before college, but I was going to buy an STI. hehe
