Today I was at ford getting a TSB on an oil leak and some dude drives up in a red 03 cobra. Hes pissed cus his head unit has eatin his CD's and will not spit them out. He tells me that its the second time that happend to him. So what does ford do.....they strip the unit, and send it off with CDs inside and tell him he'll get them back in two weeks. This guy gets pissed by the minute....he begins to tell me all the problems hes having with his brand new 37,000 dollar mustang :bs:

His rotor is warped all to hell. Just one rotor. His tranny has been replaced three times! When the service guy gets in it and shifts it, you can hear tink tink tink clink clink crrrrrunch. It sounded awful. Ford had no problem working the car under waranty even though he had a B/M shifter in it. Also, they insisted that I leave my car so they can clamp my hose (see my other post call PCV Leak Saga Continues) under waranty but I told them no thanks, I can do that work myself. Ford was gracious to us both, totally overlooking the mods on the cars :nice: Mine was lowered and had a magnaflow system on it. Im sure they heard it :)

They were very cool about the fact we had mods and they were gona work under warnty.

just goes to show.. it all depends on which dealer you take you car to for warranty work...i had some work completed under warranty.. i believe it was my O2 sensor....they replaced it without batting an eye at my lowered, short shifting, non-stock sounding stang!

I have had alot of warranty work done on my car (new driverside head, drive shaft, diff leak, lights blah blah blah) and I never had a problem with service at my dealer. But yes these Cobra's do have lots of issues that can come up. I am crossing my fingers for sure since my warranty is history next week.

I am a tech at the Ford dealer in Duluth MN. We have to remove radio units and send in for any service even if there is Cd's inside. If we open the units and remove the CD the warranty is void and the dealership eats the cost of the radio. Customers always get their CD'S back within several days.

I am in Duluth MN too!!! Small world. My 6 disc is working fine right now but last summer when it got hot the thing would not eject cds and you couldn't load them either. It seems to work fine when it is cold though, is there a newer design or something that doesn't do this. I am not looking forward to it doing it again this summer. Also I bought the 100,000 mile warranty, would that cover the work??

Off Topic, Smokin 04 do you know of a good shop here in Duluth that could weld on my subframe connectors? There are plenty of exhaust places but maybe you know of a good one for this job. Thanks
