If you read my last T5 post I was going to buy a non-world class T5 but changed my mind. See link below for that thread:

http://www.stangnet.com/mustang-forums/threads/what-do-you-think-of-this-t5-ratio.850075/

I did buy a rebuilt WC T5 from a V8 but the trans has no ID tag. I did mic the input shaft and it came in at 0.668 so I know I have a V8 trans. I've been looking through the T5 ID chart (link below) to try to guess my 5th gear ratio. I'm thinking its 0.68 vs. the 0.63? Anyone have an educated guess what the 5th gear ratio is? I'm wanting decent highway cruising speeds (65MPH) w/ a useable 5th gear so I hope its the 0.68. I ran through a calculator with my tire height (24.5") w/ my rear end gear of 3.55 w/ both 5th gear ratios and I'm between 1994 to 2152 RPMs. Stock 289 engine.......so what do you think?

I cant get anything done till spring and its just on my mind. Thanks!

If its from a factory car, then its .68. I use this link http://www.therangerstation.com/tech_library/T5ID.htm

Hi,
My T5z has a .63 5th. However bud, don't you think you'd be splitting hairs between the .63 and the .68?
I'm running 225X60X15s (25.6") and @ 70, I'm taching about 1950-2000. Nice!

Thanks for the replies! I'm just looking for some confindence that I picked the right rear end gear (3:50). I want a useable 5th gear, I'm ok with downshifting to pass, just want it to have enough power that is useable as cruising speeds. My Jeep still has the stock 4:10 gears w/ 32" tires and 5th really is not useable. I plan to rear gear the Jeep someday.........maybe.

I just ordered the Mustang Steve cable kit. I should have all the parts ready to install this spring!!! Thanks!!!
