Weld wheels, what size/kind of lug nut?

I'm getting either Weld prostars or draglites for the track and I need to know what size and type of lug nuts to buy.

Should i get them from Weld or someone else?

How long should they be?
I don't want them to bottom out or stick out too much.

Should they be open end or closed?

My rear lugs are 3" with my new moser axles and the fronts have used 1 3/16" spacers (to clear cobra brakes) with the 1 1/4" lug built into them.

To be legal, the lugs need to be open. I think the threads are supposed to stick out at least an 1/8" past the end of the lug, but I'm not 100% certain on this. I will admit, I'm not legal as my lugs are closed, and the threads do not stick out that far.

To be legal the stud needs to go into the hex portion of the lug nut the diameter of the stud ... so it needs to go into the hex part 1/2" (either that or it's 1/2 the diameter, can't remember exactly). With long studs you will want open ends lugs, as the studs will come all the way through. On the front, with the shorter studs they probably won't come through, so I might just go with closed lugs -- but that's up to you. No harm in having open lugs with shorter studs.

The different companies make lugs for those rims and each is a little different, but they're close enough that they all look similar. You will want lugs in a 1/2-20 with the long shank (1.3" about).

Centerline warriors (maybe even telstars) are one of the very few drag wheels avail that can use the stock acorn lug nuts. I think they look bad ass too.

They need to be shank style lugs.

I definitely know the Warriors still need shank style lugs (just like the Weld style except shorter - maybe .8"???), but don't know about the Telstars. I liked the Centerlines as well. I'd consider them again, except the size ranges they offer isn't as broad as the Welds.
