well i had my dad take a look at it and he emediatly said it was a rod knocking and that it would be easiest to just have it rebuilt over the winter. This means its time to build it so it can hold boost for next year

You might just want to get a whole new engine, I planned on building up mine. I also had a rod knock and when I took the oil pan off, there were about 9-10 piston skirts chillin in there, with about half the rings, pieces of rod bearing, and so forth, long story short the whole short block got hauled off the the landfill. I am also thinking of putting an explorer engine in er, they make alot more power than our stock 5.0.
