well i just got some rust repair done on my 88 notch and i noticed some more rust in some hard to get spots.so i think im count my losses and try and sell her.and get myself a newer notch.

im going to finish up the interior get her cleaned up as much as possible and try and get rid of her.

it really sucks because this is my first notch and had hoped to fix her up.ugh!

frame rails both sides pretty bad on the driver side but not so bad on pass.in the floor pan crease up by the kick panels the whole undercarriage is loaded with surface rust everywhere.its just so upsetting every time i think about it.

i want to keep it and fix but its just sooooooo much

I hear you, it sounds like it would be best to strip your whole car down and repair it and put it back together like new.

My frame rails are still ok, but my drivers strut tower has cancer. My undercarage is great except for surface rust on the back half of the chassis where the floor pans end, its like the car has been to the boat docks or something. I'm gonna lay some POR-15 back there and in the front strut towers.

well yea its mainly the strut towers near the frame where its rusted.not the rails themselves,i just looked up floor pans and that seems like an easy fix.but i guess im just gonna need some motivation.

It's crazy how some cars rust, and others don't. My 81 was a Michigan car, and had very little rust. Most was grinded off, but everything was solid.....I then bought an 87 Mustang...Michigan car at this local auction. It was rusty as all hell. Holes in rockers, quarters, doors.....It left me scratching my head being 6 years newer and looking like it was 60 years older....

I got a roller for the same reason you want to get rid of yours. Those areas rust out bad. Not really worth fixing. Find yourself a nice four cyl notch and do a swap.
