went to the track today

well i went to the track today to run my car. last time i ran a 14.9. since then i got u/l control arms, new shocks, 4.10's, and a good tune. well i thought everything was going to be great. well i was wrong. i found out it is impossible to hook when you have street tires combined with 4.10's and a 2800 converter. i spun off the line bad. then spun again going into 2nd and 3rd! the best i got in the three runs before i gave up was a 14.83. so what kind of drag radials do you think i should get. also do you think 13's were possible with my set up if i would have hooked?

With a 94mph trap I dont know if you can break into the 13's. It has been my exp. that the 13.9 barrier gets broken at around 99-101mph depending on the 60ft in our cars. I would say mid 14's (looking at your cardomain page) should be had though...like 14.4-14.6.

Remember the AOD is going to hurt you at this point.

Since some AOD's run in the high 15's...a 14.8 is not bad. I got a best of low 1.9 on street tires and avged. 2.0 or so on street tires. It takes practice.

i bought a set of 15 inch mustang rims added some 275/50/15 G Force T/A Drag Radials to take care of the problem you are having and they work great. just trade out back wheels at the track...

I ran a 14.5 at State Capitol with stock 2.73's and a 2.3 60'. So you are capable of better times. I probably am too, just takes practice. But i also have a 5-speed, so the auto will hold you back some.

if you got the aode let it shift itself and make sure that the od is off it lets the car shift later then if o.d. is on ... my bone stock car with a 180k on it with stock wires cap and rotor hahaha got a 15.2 its a auto on regular everyday tires so with sticky tires a good launch and the gear should help keep the car in the desired rpm range i think you should reach a very low 14 or high 13
