today we took my 88 to national trails for the friday night street fights as they call em....

very pleased with the results...

since my stang was trailed there right off the trailer and into the staging lanes it went...first run was on the street tires with tranny in D....here was the break down for the run....

my buddy drove the first 2 runs...i was able to sneak in and run the last one...these were spread out about 20 mins apart...while he was driving as he made a pass i was writting down what the announcer was saying...vice Versa when i made the final run..

2.3 60'
15.66 1/4
89 mph trap speed

2nd run on a set of et streets.

2.1 60'
15.23 1/4
92mph trap speed

3rd run still on the et streets... last run i was able to sneak in and drive it i did the 1-d-1 shuffle and it worked..netted me a better time...

held the break at 1,100 launced and then to the floor...tires bit and launced pretty hard imo...put me back in the seat..

2.0 60'
14.98 1/4 ( )
94mph trap speed...

ok over all im very happy!..i got what i was hoping a high 14 with my lx vert...this was with..spare tire removed, jack removed, front sway bar removed, rear seat removed and passenger headlight removed, 1/8 tank of 93.

the motor seems pretty stout for a stock 302.

only thing that would make it better is if i could of go time slips...next time i will..

next time im going to go to the test and tune nights...lot less people there...

when we got home i started on some more body work..its 10:20 now and im tired as i worked from 7-5 so i called it quits for the night....

im pretty stocked and cant wait to do that again., for the first time out with this mustang i happy with the times and even more happy that nonthing broke and it made it home in one piece.very fun even though its an auto..

what kind of gains do you think i would see with 4.10's, cobra upper & lower, upper lower controll arms, 75mm TB, 24lb injectors...think i could get a low 14 out of that combo or even a high 13?

Pretty good times for a pretty much stock vert AOD. It makes ya feel good though don't it.

I never got any baseline runs in my 93 and when I got it the car was stock down to the air silencer.

Right now with the mods in my sig the car goes 14.0s@100mph. The torque converter is the big holdback right now. 4.10s, TFS trackheat, 70mm tb, TFS stage 1 cam, DRs, MM LCAs, full exhaust and a shift kit. Put the 100 shot on it and it goes 12.72@109. Now that is a kick in the butt. When I get the new AOD in with a 3000rpm converter the car should fly.

It seems that your car is coming along nicely. Ya know a young guy like yourself that takes a car that lots of folks said was full of rust and wasn't worth what you got it for and works it back into shape makes me smile. Keep us updated on how everything is going.

That is damn good, I was willing to bet money it wouldn't run low 15s, let alone 14s.

yeah very happy with it...oh and i forgot to mention the first run was with dynomax super turbo mufflers....second and third run were with the mufflers removed...yes the dyno max super turbos do restrict the flow...after it was taken off the car screams all they way into 5,500......

i know my tach is off a good bit so i shifted at 5,500 figuring that was right about 5k...

et streets are what got me into the 14's man...next time you go to the track get some...

the first run i was think no way i am going to get a high 14...he rolled back up and said that it started walking back and forth after the 8th so that's when i called it quits with the ****ty street tires of mine( i wanted to get 2 runs in with the street tires but i wasnt risking my car for it..e sigmans really really suck) after the et streets went on it was just a matter of getting the 60' down and the rest feel into place...

ill never go to the track again on street tires...

sticky tires do make a world of a difference...

oh and the traction loc held up all 3 runs...durning the burnout to warm em up and down the track...you could see where the tires barked down the track when i pulled it to 2nd.. and fuel pressure was set at 38psi and timming at 10* i think with it at 14* it would of gave me a mph or 2 in trap speed.

Good job Ryan. That's actually damn good for a stock AOD vert. Does it have stock gears? A 2.0 60 is pretty impressive for a stock converter auto anyway.

ill never go to the track again with street tires...

Those are excellent times for an AOD 'vert. Wouldn't have expected you to run better than low 15's myself.

I've read that the stock throttle body and 19 lb. injectors are good to about 270-280 rwhp, so you'd only be throwing money away there. The intake and gears would be very good buys. I'd put in subframe connectors if you haven't done that (will make a big difference in a 'vert), and then look at control arms. You could always take the factory control arms out and box them if you are decent with a welder.

No offense ryan, but I have to say I agree with RS, no way in hell did you run 14.9 w/ a 2.0 60', ESPECIALLY at 94 mph. My vert went 14.8 @ 94 when it was stock besides gears, and it is 5 spd and I had someone from SN at the track with me to verify, w/o vids I call bs as well...And what kindof track doesn't give out timeslips???

Sorry, just hard for me to believe...
