Oregon.
I have already done the swap on my 67, and my 73 is factory disk.

but I found a V8 granada that I want the motor for. I can probably pick it up for about $300. I am trying to justify it to the wife. If I can get $150 for the front disk set up, and $50 for the tranny, I will gut the mofo and piece it off.

anyways, whats a granada disk set up going for?

I just sold a set of discs from a Versailles for $150. These had good rotors. You might also be able to sell the 8" rear ( if it's not a 9" :D ) to one of the guys doing a 6 to 8 swap in a Stang. :nice:

I have a 77 granada that i am taking the stuff off of right now. Anyway mine has a 8.8 in it. When ddi they start using the 8.8. I took it out today. the car is trashed so i used my truck and pulled it over on its roof. So what shoudl i be taking, i havent been on in a while so i cant remember what i should use on my mustang.

As far as I know, no 77 Granadas came with 8.8's. It might be something else. Like a Dana 44.

I am next to positive it is a 8.8, and i know its not a 44. It looks exactly like the 8.8 that was in my 95 f 150, and it looks just like the one in a 89 5.0 mustang that we have. I highly doubt somebody swaped it out. Every thing is factory on it. It did have a 302 in it.

Hmm.

I might buy it, then strip it. then take the plasma cutter to it and toss the bits into the metal recycle bin at the dump :D

I doubt a junkyard would take it without anything on it.

The Granadas didn't get any 8.8s. They had a rearend that looks alot like the 8.8, but it's called an 8 3/4." No parts from the 8.8 will work on it.
The front disc setup normally goes for about $150. Any less can be considered a steal. Some places will try to get more, but swapmeets and classifieds will generally be around $150.

So is my 8 3/4 good for anything, and how can i make sure its not an 8.8. Ill look tomarrow to see if it still has teh tag on it. Im sure it does. It sure as heck does look like an 8.8 same fill plug spot and everything.
