What are my warning lights telling me

I have a 65 with the original instrument panel.
There is a red light on the left, and one on the right.

40 years have left these lights with black smudges where there was once writing
What is the light on the left?
What is the light on the right?

They didn't earn the name "idiot lights" for nothing .................... Sorry, couldn't resist that one On a 65? if it's on constantly, I'd tend to lean toward it being either the brake warning or alternator not charging.

humm i have a 66 with original instrument panel, and mine doesnt have warning lights to my knowledge..is yours like a special option or something, or was it just for 65?? just curious

Its oil and gen on my 64 1/2 oil being left, gen being right. I assume it would be oil and alt on the 65

If you look, there are 2 lights. one to the left and one to the right of the odometer, below the speedometer.

Usually these lights warn you that your bank account is about to take a big hit. Too frequently by the time these lights come on you already have a problem. Aftermarket gauges are much more meaningful indicators of engine status.

Check and clean voltage reg connection.
The old style reg can stick.
