I am thinking about doing a 4cyl swap but I am concerned about registration, insurance, emissions testing. How does that go about? Does it get registered as a 4cyl and everything and nobody knows about it having a V8?

Don't even suggest VIN swapping.

Emissions are the same standards for all vehicicles v8, 4, 10 12 doesnt matter.
I got mine insured as a "custom" and my nsurance took pics of it. Costs the same as a regular 5.0 to insure, I gave them a 4K value on it.
Didnt wanna get stuck with .00 if it was wrecked.
Took off my full coverage now, and I still pay the same amount.
Soo,
It depends if you want full or liability imo

when i got insurance for mine it was a lot of bs because they said it was an alterded car and we had to have a mediator come look at it and he said it was ok but at first i was accused of swapping vin tags around because the uninformed insurance agent didn't believe me and said it was just to much work to change from a 4cyl to a 5.0.what did she know.
