I have a 91 GT 5-speed. Car has 3:55's, Full exhaust, march pullys, CAI, pro 5.0 shifter, smog elimation and the timming kicked up to 12. This is what i have in mind for the next step: trickflow street heat intake, 24 pound inj, Pro M 75mm bullet, 70mm tb. The thing i wanna know most is what do u guys think about upgrading the stock heads. I thought about: 1.6 rockers, high lift valve springs, and hardned pushrods. Then a E-303 cam, what do you guys think about it?? thanks

You can do it if you really want. I personally would just take the time to save up some money and buy a nice set of aluminum heads. That's what I did anyway. I know it sucks, saving money here and there, but in the end, it was worth it to me. :) Looks like you have a stout car in the works

Get new heads, aluminum or cast iron. Don't mess w/ the stockers, you'll prolly end up money behind. The heads is where you're going to get the real power.

For the money you'd spend on those rockers alone, you'd be well on your way to a good set of cast iron heads.

Yea, i firgued thats the response i would get. What do u guys think about the GT40 turbo swirl alum. heads??? i saw somewhere in the 5.0 mag. they sell for $699.99...i really want the AFR 165cc heads but i just cant afford them..:(

No idea about those heads, but i will say that you dont need to get a set of injectors until at least you get the heads. The throttle body, intake, and mass air meter aren't going to create enoug addition air to warrant more fuel than your stockers can handle. Once you add the heads, that might be a better time.

I have never heard of the GT-40 z heads..are they alum. or are they cast iron? I was looking at the gt-40 turbo swirl alum. heads.. they dont weigh much and are sposed to put out 35-40 more hp and tq than the stock heads, and i think they will match good with the intake i'm going to get.

If you're on a budget then look into cast iron heads. Many tests have shown a small HP increase w/ aluminum heads. Less weight is of course a large advantage w/ aluminum. You can get a set of CI World Product heads complete pretty reasonable.
