Hey , anyone got results or experience with using TFS twisted wedge heads? think they would flow good for low end power on a 302c.i. with cam lift of .512? anyone have any better suggestions like GT40 X303 heads? I just need some advice, im building a motor with the F303 cam, edelbrock rpm performer and holley carb. need help deciding on heads that flow best around 3000 rpm ( F cam's power band) Thanks !

TW & F CAM

I am running Twisted Wedge and F Cam in 331, 30lb injectors, LT headers, 70 mm TB. Also have track heat intake and many other adds. The car really moves particularly at high RPM although the low end torque is good as well. Do not know which change made most difference since did it all at once and have not run at track yet. With 5 speed get 14 mpg around town. Idle is slightly rough for me and gets a lot of attention.

Hope this helps

if money is no object i would say definitely go with the afr 185s, but if you have a tight budget then you might want to consider a set of edelbrock heads.. when i was n/a i had a set of edelbrock performer heads, typhoon intake (basically edelbrock performer), an F cam, and all the bolt ons, and i made 300rwhp and 324rwtq.. now see extremely similar numbers (sometimes alittle more sometimes alittle less) from the guys with TFS heads.. and when i bought my heads the twisted wedge heads were selling for about $250 more than what i paid for mine.. just one more option to consider, people seem to always look over edelbrock when it comes to their heads

I suggest AFR's 165 stud with 58cc combustion chambers and upgraded valve springs. The single pattern cam will work more efficiently with them than the 185 due to flow relationship between ports. The 185's work better with a split-pattern cam as they are intake biased. If you do go 185's (vs 165's) get the 58 chambers as well.

The GT40's have larger than stock chambers so your static compression will decrease and the F cam's timing events aren't radical enough to make up any real difference in cylinder pressure.

The TW are a great head too and will retain stock cr with 60.5 chambers, but the 165's would be a better head for your combo ... you'd be surprised what power the 165's make on a 302 based stroker ... not far off from the 185's or TW.

The 165's will retain good port velocity to make up ground down low that the cam takes away. The 165's flow peak at .520" lift and the TW and 185's at .560"

Good Luck

honestly the afr heads are only like 200$ more thant the edelbrock performers

i guess i should have looked up the prices before i posted.. i havnt looked at the prices recently, but i bought my edelbrocks for $800.. and as far as i kno the afr's are like $1300.. the prices have probably changed since then, so my post probably doesnt apply anymore.. so with that being said, go with thew AFRs
