the typhoon is a decent intake, i use one and its just a copy of the edelbrock, only flaw would be rough ports, but anyone serious about performance doesnt just bolt something on, they at least gasket match and while gasket matching a small clean up and smoothing takes no time. even the good stuff will have the occasional bump or pit in them, its just part of the casting process, which isnt perfect.
my upper of my typhoon is polished and it appears to be polished via a tumbling machine with hard media to shine it up, so the ports were smooth and nice on the upper. my lower was gasket matched but from what wasnt touched, it looked perfectly fine, nothing wrong with it at all.
other thing is i had a problem with the dizzy hitting the hump where the t-stat sits, i had the knock the edge of the TFI module off, and the upper also sits REALLY close to the back of the dizzy, i had to take a grinder and knock some plastic off, no biggie.
overall the intake performed great and the small problems i had were no biggie, espescially for the price, i got it used for a good price. you can get them new for 300.
also had brand new TFS street intake at one time, never used it but it was GOOD quality. i noticed where i had my dizzy problem with my typhoon, there was a little depression in the TFS just for the clearence, pretty nice!
the cobra is a good intake, but the typhoon will flow more.
