well my car has 51k on it and it doesnt always get driven nicely so im thinking i may need a clutch within the next year or so my cams are going in next week so ill have a little more power what is a good aftermarket clutch that isnt too stiff the stock is pretty stiff as it is i dont want anythign that is gonna be a pain to drive

A Centerforce Dual friction clutch will take the abuse well. :nice:
I am getting a Centerforce DF clutch when my stock OEM clutch bites the dust and I hope it happens soon
because I want a better clutch on my car.

If I were you, I would look into a RAM powergrip HD clutch. I have heard bad things about SPEC and had bad luck with a centerforce DF (didn't hold up under pressure). I just installed my RAM and it has very good street drivability and is holding up nicely under hard driving conditions. The pedal is just a little heavier than stock too. I give RAM an A+

C'mon, you know you want it.....

I recently did a bunch of clutch research, and ended up with a SPEC State II+. The + wil hold a little more power and is smoother on the street and a non +. The only thing with the SPEC is you will have to break it in for 1000 - 1500 miles. The only people I have ever heard badmouth a SPEC were those who did not go through the break in period. Before break in, it is very "jerky". Grip is awesome. I would highly recommend one.

Hey Dustin is that you? This is Mike, I don't know many guys with 00 GT's and 400 HP in PIttsburgh! If that's you-hope the wedding went GREAT! Your stang is sharp, the pic on the web is cool. I need a clutch in the Cobra and am reading these posts to figure out which one. Got the Cobra up to around 370 hp and the clutch is slipping in 3rd thru 5th gears. Sounds like people like King Cobras but they are heavy, and mixed reviews on Spec and Centerforce. Bad reviews for Ford Racing, good for McLeod but they are expensive. Whatcha got in the GT and do you like it? See ya!
