What is a good daily driver clutch for a blown 02 Gt?

fallstar01 - It is usually based on the pressure plate. I'm not sure why though...

I have the CF dual friction,good daily driver clutch,a nice step up from stock BUT-on a recent trip to the strip I've found problems. It won't hold up to a 150hp shot launch on slicks. My car makes a little over 300 on the motor and so the definate limit is 425 -450 depending on your driving style. I launch at 4-5000 rpm and it wouldn't hold after the first run.

i have a buddy with one & spraying a 150 shot out of the hole & it does fine

Talked to a guy with a SS running about 550rwhp with 150 shot of nos. He had the spec stage 3. He said it was to on/offish for him. He said there was no in-between u either went r didn't. I believe centerforce dual friction is the way i will be goin.

SPEC are notorious for their chattering issue. Do a little research . Go CF, RAM or D&D. Post mid 2001 3650 have 10splines unput shaft, and 11" clutches. Pre mid 2001 T45 had 10.5" clutches and same input shaft.

Yeah, they are still 10 spline. The Centerforce part number for a DF to fit the TR3650 cars is DF800075. We carry them (Here), but are sold out currently.

you can switch to a 10.5 inch clutch on the 3650 if you swap flywheel as well. I did this on my 04GT and also added an Anderson Ford Hi Rev clutch. although the clutch is an on/off type with heavy pedal pressure, I like it alot and it held up well to the track launches and powershifts I threw at it. saved weight with the smaller clutch and aluminum flywheel too which was a plus.

pedal pressure is determined by the amount of weight or lack thereof on the fingers of the pressure plate. the CF DF has a weighted pressure plate where mine doesn't. drawbacks of the weighted PP are vacuum related issues when shifting at high rpms causing the clutch not to engage.

well i see they got the part number for you already ont he clutch, but they didn't give the part number for the throw out bearing (it does not come with the clutch). the t.o. bearing number is n1714

The king Cobra is a great clutch for any car that is lighttly modified, but when u get up unto the 350-360 rwhp range the king cobras won't hold that kind of power. A buddy of mine had one that only lasted a month r so because it wouldn't hold the power (91 fox body heads, cam, intake, gears, exhaust, etc) but another one of my buddies has one on a 00 GT lightly modified and he loves it
