Are they worth it? Do they make decent power? My Hookers have a leak. Since I have to pull them to fix said leak. I was thinking of going with some mid length headers so I could get my ground clearance back. I imagine they don't make as much power as LT's, but I don't mind losing 10hp or so to not scrape everywhere I go.

Are you talking about the bassanis? I think that they made pretty good power, but it has been 6-8 years since I remember seeing a thread on them. I remember them not being cheap. I'd probably just stick with what you have.

There are also the JBA midlengths. You are correct though, they are about $750. However I was looking at Kooks, so $750 actually doesn't seem so bad. Reason I want to replace the Hookers I have now is I can hear a leak, but I can't pinpoint it. They are coated, but rusty anyway. I would hate to go through the work of replacing the gaskets, only to have it keep leaking b/c there is a pin hole in the collectors or something silly like that.

I had a set on my car and loved them, very high quality and made 20+rwhp when installed with a custom o/r h-pipe

Yes. They make great power and make your car sound like a beast. Both mid-lengths and even shorty headers will offer both a significant performance and sound improvement. Longtube headers are a complete waste of money and outperform mid-length/shorty headers by only a few HP. Get them!

IM SO SICK AND TIRED OF THESE RETARED HEADER THREADS. JUST WASTE YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY ON GARBAGE MODS LIKE THIS. IM GOING TO COPY AND PASTE THIS SAME POST ON EVERY FUTURE HEADER THREAD. I CANT BELIEVE SO MANY PEOPLE ARE SUCH SUCKERS.

Time to clean the sand out of your gine I think. The OP has an exhaust leak on his headers and rather than repair the leak it sounds like he's trying to get a consensus on reputable mid-length headers in an effort to gain some ground clearance. This definitely isn't your run of the mill "are the FRPP shorty headers good" thread

Also you misspelled retarded

Whoa Nightfire, sup? lol

If there is little to no difference between factory manifolds and mid lengths, I'll put a set of Kooks on the car, and won't waste the money.

It's cool, no offense taken. It is funny that another thread about mid length/shorties was posted over in tech this morning. lol
