WHat is the thread/pitch of the shifter??

For some reason the Mach 1 shifter knob won't work properly on the MGW shifter. It goes to the bottom and tears the boot up, but if i leave it high it's too loose.

I'm gonna by a bolt, cut it, cut a slot in it for a screwdriver, thread it into the knob and use that to set it in place at the right height so it won't spin on me and won't tear the boot.

I just need to know the size

Not if i cut it so it bottoms out inside the shift knob
