can somebody tell me what this is cause its ripped off and just hanging there. i guess when the plug blew out it ripped it off somehow?? its connected to the sensor? that goes into the fuel rail.. ive driven with it like that and notice no noticible effects.. but im not 100% certain how long its been ripped off

th_CIMG4477-1.webp piece in the small square box over the drivers side valve cover

it looks like some kind of hose that runs into the plenum with those red wires or hoses. it must of been all one rubber piece and now its ripped and hangin. some info on this piece would be appreciated!

Could you get a better picture?

I think though that its a vacuum hose that goes into the fuel rail preuusre sensor. Im not sure what happens if it looses vacuum...but that means your motor will have a vacuum leak. That will probably reduce your gas milage.

sry right now i really cant get a better pic..if u look at your motor in that area youll see exaclty what im talkin about.. but yea its connected to some sort of fuel realated sensor and is moving air i believe. i wonder how i could mold/ get it back in place? ideas & more info?

No need to get a better picture. I can tell you what it is by your description. It's the electronic fuel pressure sensor. It's held into the top of the driver's side fuel rail by two small bolts. It has a harness connector on the top and a vacuum connector on the side.

By the way, if that's damaged, you will want to be sure you are extra careful replacing that. You will need to relieve the fuel pressure in the fuel rails before removing it, and you will definitely be disconnecting the battery.

negative. it does not go there. it goes exactly where i show in the picture where its ripped off. there would be no way for it to reach that far anyways. when im holding it in that pic, i had to pull a bit cause it really has no slack, it fits right up on that sensor perfectly. i just dont know what it is and what its causing. no lights or codes, no noise, no difference.

Yea I believe like said thats the FRPS (fuel rail pressure sensor) and I think the only way to fix what you have is to JB weld a new fitting onto it. But that wouldnt be very nice looking...I think the best thing would be to just buy a new sensor.

And like said WATCH OUT when your remove that thing...it has some SERIOUS pressure under it. Wear safety glasses and pull it off with thick gloves or a wrag over it.
Also, replace the two O rings if no new ones come with the sensor.

any links to place to buy a new sensor??.. but im thinking about just crazy gluing it in place unless somebody tells my why this will affect anything since im 100% sure its only flowing air. either flowing or sucking. i still have no clue

mine broke too when i was changing my plugs one day. All that broke off was a plastic vacume hose so i super glued it back on. (that reminds me i need to get a new one) It has worked fine for the last month. If you glue it make sure you dont clog the line, just use a tiny bit. If you remove it pull the plug on your inertia switch in the trunk, start the car, wait for it to die, then you wont have any fuel pressure and it will be easy.

yea i think im gonna open up the hole on the plug a bit and super glue it back on. i dont see why that wouldnt work fine. even when its sitting open with no line, its still getting air in there, so thats prolly why i havent noticed anything

The nipple on the fuel rail pressure sensor broke off. Just buy a new sensor since that sensor is critical, the PCM uses that to sense the fuel pressure and needs that to be accurate since there is no return or regulator.

It's very easy to replace, I don't even bother with relieving the fuel pressure. In fact i never relieve the fuel pressure on anything, it's not needed only a little fuel will come out..

i dont relieve pressure either on that, i remember only a bit came out from when i did my cams..

anyways.. if i buy a whole new sensor, does that include the rubber piece that broke off on mine and the hoses that run all the way to the plenum. it looks like its all one piece to me..???
