Just curious what that is... this is of my uncles 89 notch. I have a 89 lx but mine doesn't have that sensor or whatever it is... Mine does have the connector on the harness but whatever that is, its not there.

This is located on the passenger side of the car just in front of the strut tower.

Any ideas?

Interesting enough, my uncles fox does have an alarm on it while mine does not... but I highly doubt thats what it is since all his alarm **** seems to be on the drivers side strut tower.

I have it on my '92 LX. Looks like a relay of some sort.

It's the WOT relay. It switches power off to the AC compressor at WOT. Without the relay (just an otherwise unmodified socket), the AC clutch wont lock-up.

Good luck.

Hmm... I guess I shouldn't worry too much then since my A/C isn't charged. Thanks for the reply.

Just curious if that would affect my heat not working?... My heat worked great until I did my motor swap and changed the heater core... now it doesn't seem to want to work... is this in any way related?

It's in no way, shape or form related. The wiring pathway is only through the HVAC control (at AC), the LPS, WOT and then the AC clutch). Now it will affect the defrost function, as AC is used for that (dehumidifying the air).

FOr a lack of heat, I'd look elsewhere......... I dont know how the lack of a restrictor in the inlet can affect the heat (it's there to keep pressure down inside the heater core) but a secondary effect might be to allow heat to be extracted more easily.

Good luck.

Hmm... maybe I had the defroster on. I don't remember but I was pissed to not see it working... Maybe i'll look into finding one of those relays and see if it fixes my problems. Thanks

You should be able to get that relay at the parts store (I called the dealer for one and it was real expensive). I went with a Bosch relay and socket instead (my wires were vulcanized and needed repair).

If your AC doesnt work (due to refrigerant, etc) then the defroster wont work properly either.

Good luck.
