man, this pisses me off, alright, this is how it goes:

the guy i bought the car from got it painted last april from maaco and hasn't waxed/buffed since. i've washed it a few times, but after awhile, i saw that the spoiler was starting to fade a little bit. not only that, but i also noticed these weird spots like the paint had mint in it or something (?????). anyways, i figured that it WAS maaco, and came to accept the fact that there might be a few little imperfections.

heres where it gets retarded. i washed my car today, because it was absoulutely filthy, but after washing it, i found that the car had this weird oily film all over it, later realizing that i must have used too much car wash concentrate. so i took it over to the local gas station to get it re-washed by a machine. by the time it was all said and done, it was night, so i pull my car out to the gas station canopy to see the results of the wash. and even though the film seemed to be gone, there was like these weird permanent water spots on my car. THAT PISSED ME OFF! they dont come off no matter how hard i rub. and on tp of that MY SPOILER IS EVEN MORE FADED! wtf, wtf, wtf?????

PLEASE HELP ME OUT GUYS, what is up with my paint, and how do i fix it?

thanks a bunch,
mike

Yeah man, that sounds like it is a result of the clearcoat not being applied evenly/properly. Did you get any receipts for the paint job? I dont know if there is a guarantee that comes with Macco's paint jobs or if it is a seperate purchase, but I have heard of such warranties. If not, you may be able to have a wetsand and reapplication of the cearcoat done

Maaco won't honor/stand by any of their work. Trust me. My first vehicle was a Chevy S-10 and I had that painted there and had a spray in bedliner, and I washed it at the local do it yourself wash, and I blew the paint right off my truck. The bed liner started to come off, and after a long fight with them, we finally reported them to the better business bureau and we havent heard anything and it has been two f-ing years! Its real ridiculous when you spend $1600 on a paint job!

yeah, do not wet sand that paint. They call it a "integrated clear"..... my buddy had a coupe painted about5 years ago and its completely faded on the top panels, im gonna try to rub it out and get a little shine for a upcomming show, but its done and he paid about 1400 bucks for it.....but in a paint job, that aint nothing these days.

you can try to clay it or use compound, but it probably just going to get worse.
