The car is called a Qvale Mangusta. Recognize the name "Mangusta?" The origins are from the original Detomaso Mangusta in the '60's and '70's. Mr. Qvale and Mr. Detomaso were very good friends, and in the late 90's partnered up once again to produce a new, modern Mangusta of class and distinction.
To make a long story short, the two elderly gentlemen (Qvale and Detomaso) experienced some communication difficulties and parted; however, the Mangusta was almost in production out of the sub-leased Lambo plant in Modena, Italy. The product is ... well, a stunning vehicle that was originally sold for $89k and then discounted to about $55k to sell the last of them; but because it's so limited and such a discovery of beauty, the value is about twice the original retail
I get so many stares, looks and attention (ah, the ladies!) that it's hard to keep it in the garage. The suspension is Ferrari-tight, interior is Connoly Leather (Bentley/Rolls) hybrid material body (Lambo) and ... drumroll ... Ford Cobra drivetrain just like the original Mangustas and Pantaras.
Now that I have writer's cramp, I'm looking to make mods to my 2001 Qvale Mangusta, 4.6L Cobra motor. It puts out about 260 hp (I have the automatic version because the stick version - 320 hp - hurts my recently injured knee). I'd like to add some serious ponies ... help! Supercharger, intercooler, ??? price ... where ... etc ...
