what kinda power will this put down??

well i finally got my friend involved with the wonderfull world of foxbody's and he decided to get into a little race with an ls1 yesterday... well lets just say he got his ass handed to him... so now hes looking for more power!! keep in mind his setup needs to be affordable since we are both 17 and still in school... hes getting gears withing the next week or so, but i dont think that will be enough!! i was thinking a set of gt40p heads, explorer upper and lower and then an alphabet cam... hes already got an accufab 65 mm t.b., mac headers, hi flow catted h pipe, an flows... so basically a stock 5.0. I guess he would need bigger injectors an maf along with an adjustable f.p.r. Can all this be done for a litte less then a thousand??? Im estimating a horsepower rating of around 275-290 horse??

maybe 260 hp if even. he should get some gears. If he wants to attempt to catch upto an LS1 he's gonna need a lot more. under $1000???--not unless you buy used parts and install them yourself.

I did almost the same upgrades, there is no need for bigger injectors,maf or f.p.r. The only way you would need that is if you were running nos or forced induction. I asked around and alot of peope even said the stock cam would be good for those mods you listed.

oh really???? have you dynoed your car yet??? i was thinkin of just telling him to get a zex kit and be done with it after he gets his gears put in.... as far as install goes i can do all of it...

it cost me $250 for the GT-40 upper and lower intake and $290 for the redone GT-40p heads. I would guess around 250hp and you will get an incredible difference above 4500 rpm's. My stock **** would practically stop flowing at that rpm. Oh yeah if he gets GT-40p head he will need the special headers to give room for the spark plugs
