Since money is a significant issue, check the link in my signature on porting stock lower intakes. This can be done for ~$130. You need a better intake regardless of waht direction you go.

So I will gain 15-25rwhp?
And It's only $130?

no offense, but in our hobby, you gotta pay to play. In my case, I find that if I just recycle all my empties it more or less evens out...

maybe someone already asked this and i must've missed it, but what are you running now??? i'm taking a chance by saying that your car should be running low 14.4 and below. you also seem to be missing headers, get some l/t. i think that you should've gone with the 4.10s instead of the 3.73s. what pulleys do you have, aluminum or steel? also, get a good ignition setup to let everything work at it's optimum. and of course lose some weight, do a search, i inclusively started a thread on a weight reduction list. good luck man

When installed and tuned corretly, I have the data that supports that. I've also seen it not reached due to not doing it right. It's only one piece of the combo, so you have to get it all right. Anytime you change a major piece of the engine you should disconnect the battery for 30 minutes to hasten the memory loss of your old fuel curve - this hastens the buidling of a new fuel curve in the EEC tables and gets you to full potential of the new combo faster. Yes, most guys wind up paying about $130 with return shipping.

stunner - You can't mix the stock intake pieces with a Cobra or Explorer intake. You use one or the other. The Cobra and Explorer intakes are essentially the same except for some sensor mounts depending on the year Explorer intake. The 95-early 97 intakes had internal EGR passages like the 87-93 intakes and the 97+ Explorer intakes have external EGR provisions. You must convert to the Fox chassis TB set up or install an aftermarket elbow to use the 93 Cobra or Explorer intakes. Rio5.0 on this forum did the conversion to the 87-93 TB setup and did a thread on the conversion with pics.

If you want someone to port an intake for you, I am one source - paste the link in my signature for info, an email address and mailing address.

stunner - your hi-jacking this thread. PM me with your combo (which you didn't list so I can't make a recommendation) and we'll talk.

if you go to any dyno shop that does custom tuning with chips then you can use any octain you want.. All they may do is run a little less timing to make sure you don't get any detonation.. Now if you have boost thats a different story because of compression ratios and stuff.

Oh BTW if your are near any of the spots ford chip visits or have a local dyno place that uses ford chips i have one i just got earlier this year i will make you a hell of a deal on...
