What PSI do you normally run your tires at?

I did a search and didn't find anything, so don't flame me.

I am running 245/40/18-44psi up front and 275/40/18-44psi in the rear. I was at discount tire getting my tire repaired and the guy checked the pressure and I told him I pumped them to about 42psi yesterday. He told me that was extremely high and to only run about 35psi.

What do you guys normally run in your tires? Do you run a different pressure up front than in the rear? Just curious! Thanks.

Why are you runnin 44 psi? That is the max on the tire not the recommended for the car.. Inside your door is a sticker with the recommended air press. You don't need that much air.

I run 32 up front and 30 out back

What about a digital one? Would you recommend a dial over a digital? Thanks.
Well, my dial gauge has a 12" hose and a pressure release button on the side. I can press that button to let air bleed in spurts and bring the pressure down in less than half pound increments. So I would recommend one like that. Also, the batteries never go dead.

I've always kept mine at 35 pounds. Not for any specific reason, but that just seemed like the perfect poundage to me. I remember on my '93 GT it said 30 psi on the door, but the tires looked too flat to me.

Well, I said 42psi all around, not 44psi :p I will try to find a good one like the one you talked about, Killy. What brand is yours, btw?

I appreciate all of the replies. I have never known what pressure to run at. I am so glad that I asked!

if you are runnign stock tires, or at least stock tire sizes, read the sticker under the gas cap. Or check your plaquard sticker on the driver side door of hte car. It will tell you what PSIs to run your tires at.

I run mine at 30psi generally

the sticker that tells you what pressure to run is inside your glovebox. ford recomends 32 psi all around
Isn't it 35?

I keep mine on 30-32. I think the door sticker may be a bit too high if you're the only passenger. Under full load though, it would make sense.
