Hey guys, just sold my 12 second '88 GT and bought a '97 GT (picking it up on Friday)

I am just curious what these cars run stock..
97 GT
51,000 miles
auto
Catless H- pipe
Mufflers

I was figuring low 15's?? Just wondering ruffly where I'm starting.

Thanx guys,
Jason

I am considering swapping for PI heads, but am not sure about raising the compression that much since I want to run boost...

Do not pass up the PI Swap. Get it and grap some Cometic Head Gaskets and remove the swirl dams, it'll drop the compression, OR if you are going FI you might want to Forge the block and the CR will drop with what you choose.

I'm trying to keep from doing alot of engine work to keep dependability longer (once you break the seal, it's anyone's game) Some people like the non-pi head with the upgraded intake and cams... anyone know what kinda power difference that would be?? Also, what about a stock longblock running 8 - 10 psi's?? PI setup on boost?

Thanx,
Jason

High 14's - low 15's in the 1/4 mile.

?i dunno....

I haven't run my combo at the track yet... so really this is useless, however with that said, mine was a dog i am auto also, auto on purpose, i did the intake after the x pipe, filter, maf and it would just pull a 3.5l altima from 60 to 130 mph. now with the headers, intake and flashed `puter, it takes most cars in stop light grandprix. before any changes, it was embarassing. 3500 lb and 205(?)hp auto was real hard to swallow after the mustangs i had owned. but even an auto car can do the job with the right changes. PI heads have a definite advantage in port size, valve size, and larger cam. with that said the intake is killer. my non pi intake died at 4700 i mean DIED... i rev to 5700 now. sorry i can't give an ET, but 15 even is probably right. :notnice:

Intercooled or not? On Hot Rod TV, the 96 GT vert made 316 rwhp with an intercooled Vortech setup. I'm not sure about the psi.

My 97 isn't too bad anymore....I would eat my buddies 93 GT with longubes, off-road H, catback, 3.55 gears and chip from a stop pretty good. Now he just got heads/cams/ intake and I hang with him pretty good...But....yea man get that NPi intake off ASAP and stick a blower on there...
