What should I do? (scammed and need help)

Hey I dont know if you all remember but a while back I bought a S351 spoiler from a guy on corral. Took a while but it finally got here and the thing was totally trashed. The only defect he said it had was the studs were messed up. Well, the stud werent messed up, because they were totally gone(all 4) and there was also a huge bubble in the urethane. After going to bodyshops, all of them said that its not worth fixing and also that there was no way UPS could have done that. I got one estimate of $116 but no one else wanted to touch it. The seller did NOT claaim responsibility for it and if you look at the pics he sent me, the bubble is right outside of there the pics are, in all 3 pics. He said UPS did it so I did call them to file a complaint. I said I got an estimate for $116 so thats what I put its value at. For soem odd reason, UPS decides to send the check to HIM!! So now he has my original payment and $106 that UPS sent him. For a while he claimed to not have recieved it until I called UPS and they said he did, then he said he jsut got it that day. NOW he says that hes only sending me $30 for the spoiler and keeping the other $70 for himsefl. What should I do? Last tiem I talked to UPS they said it was between me and him to work it out. Should I talk to UPS again and tell them my situation? Id rather neither of us get anything then him get $70 for ripping me off, along with the initial payment of the spoiler. :bs: :bs: :bs: :bs:

Amen.

Now that I've thought about it, get in touch with UPS and get after them for sending HIM the check. I'm sure they'll send you another like you deserve, and then let them go after him for the money he has.

I've never bought anything through the classifieds on corral or here. I'm flat out scared to. If you ask me the websites should really start cracking down on things. I see they added the trader rating here... and maybe that will help, but I've heard nothing but scams for the past 6 months.... I'll pay more and go to ebay or buy new. Screw this :bs:

Called UPS and they said since he is the one that shipped it, he gets the money and they cant do anything about it. About ebay, I bought a phone on there not even 3 weeks ago, it listed all the specs on the phone(color screen, all that stuff) and then below where it says shipping charges it says in small print "note this is sold as-is, phone is not in working conditon, battery may still work". I didnt see that so I lost out there, then when I bought my white face gauges listed as 94-98 it said buy only if your stock gauges look exaclty like these. I didnt notice that those revved up to 8k while stockers rev to 7k so now my tach is way off. I called them up and they said my car must be a special production cause they have never had this problem(I guess 6.7 million mustangs is still considered a special production). The guy kept repeating himself, it was s stupid. (no offense) I think everyone selling stuff online has downs syndrome or something. Well I got tricked by those last two so now im real careful when I buy stuff. Live and learn I guess

I would go higher up the ranks at UPS keep asking for the next manager in line until you get your money. They should have sent the money to YOU not him because it was YOU that received the damaged goods and took the loss!!!

actually, i think it is their policy to do it that way because the seller/shipper has the information and shipping insurance receipt (or should have it). if you paid through paypal file a complaint, I did and even though they said i wouldn't get it, a month later $30 was on my credit card (turns out that after 3 months i recieved the item and told paypal i'd give the money back- no word yet)

In defense of UPS, they supposedly "broke" his spoiler. With that being the case, he is getting his money back for his spoiler. It makes sense to me to do it that way.

But you need to be firm, calm, and patient about this issue. There are ways to threaten someone without making a "threat". E-mail me @ [email protected]

Gotta buddies leaving this week for Iraq. I say we put idiots like this in the service and send them to Iraq and see what freedoms they take for granted that were robbed from the people oppressed by the former dicatorship in Iraq. Rant over now :D

On a serious note you never should have bought it if he sent you pics only showing half the spoiler. Buying things on line from privite sellers is a risky thing to do and you just have to be really careful. I would have been suspecious from the start if he only showed me pics of half the spoiler, that should have thrown a red flag.

This is where I bought my S351 Spoiler.

The quality was pretty good and the only thing I had to do to make it fit was make one of the holes in the trunk lid bigger b/c the pedastal mounts were not quite spaced far enough apart but I just reemed the hole out alittle bigger and it fits fine and looks really good for a $100 wing. Just trying to help out and save you some money b/c I know this wing goes for a bit more from other companys. I think in the long run its better to buy from companys VS privite sales b/c theres to many people out there looking to screw someone over by selling them there junk.

If you paid with a credit card through Paypal, contact your credit card company or your financial institution if you wired the cash from your bank account. You may loose your ablility to use Paypal if you do a chargeback but it is better than letting this scammer make out on the deal.

i dont see why that guy feels the need to keep most of the money. he got the money that was agreed on when he sold it. i dont see why he wants the other money. greedy bastards these days. what goes around, comes around
