What should I do? (scammed and need help)

Sorry to rehash this thread, but I had a similar situation a year ago. I bought a Video card for the Pc from this guy on ebay. He said it was top of the line bla bla bla. The card he sent me was a knock off. The card I was supposed to get was a 64MB card, the damn thing was only 16MB and some sort of cheesy knock off and I paid $200 for it. So I told the guy to go screw himself, I want my money back. Well we ended up in a war with negative feedback and both of us got kicked off of ebay. Finally I went to my local police department and filed a complaint. They in turn contacted his local police department. They went to his house to see what the deal was. All in all to make a long story short, we never went to court but it was close to that. I ended up getting my $200 back (3 months later) and my ebay account reinstated. If I were you, file a complaint or press charges. It may only be $70, but thats $70 that should be in your pocket, not his. It the deal was made through a legit classifieds place, then you should be okay. Ebay is usually pretty good if you file complaints with them, so I stick to ebay, but even then I don't buy much at all from there. I just hope I don't get ripped off on my spoiler. :notnice:

If you paid with a credit card through Paypal, contact your credit card company or your financial institution if you wired the cash from your bank account. You may loose your ablility to use Paypal if you do a chargeback but it is better than letting this scammer make out on the deal.
Exactly. I almost never buy anything through the mail using anything other than a credit card. That way, absolute worst case scenario I get my money back by going through the credit card company.
