Whats your goal wit the car? Both of those are options, but won't net you much gain as far as HP goes.

Just to do some simple bolt on’s and work my way up from there, just not sure where I should start or if one of those is better for now or if one will give me more power than the other

I would take the money you planned on putting towards a CAI or pulleys and buy a MGW short shifter. Completely changes the way your car drives, for the better.

It was one of the first things I did to mine.

Underdrive pullies and Chinesium CAIs [both] cause more issues than they resolve. Neither of those are what I would call, "good upgrades" on a street car.

CAIs can mess with air flow and cause drivability issues for virtually [zero] horsepower.

Underdrive pullies are worth a small percentage from an accessory drive that altogether, costs about 12 HP. Cooling, power steering, and alternator outputs are all reduced. Just about every old guy in here has a set holding a door open somewhere or propping up a shelf to make it level.

I had a set on my 85 GT and could feel a slight difference at the seat of the pants and the 1/4 mile. But the car had rear gears which spins the motor higher and I don't live in a super hot area.

Rear gears. If you're running a stock ratio, changing to 3.55s is a noticeable bump that you'll feel every time you lean on the throttle. It's a little bit more than a simple bolt-on, but money well spent regardless of whether you do it yourself or pay someone to install them.
