what size belt when you take out the smog?

Just wrap a string around where the belt would be (make sure the tensioner is down) and measure the string, probably be around 30 inches or so. Tell an auto parts store how long a belt you need and how many grooves they should be able to take care of ya.

Pretty sure it's a 75-75.5" belt, I used a 76" on my boss's car, and it worked, untill the belt started to stretch. The tensioner got a little close to the WP. I'd get both, and see which one suits your needs the best.

I would've thought the 84.5" would be the stock size. I remember now, one of the guys at work told me it takes a 77", so we got a 76, 77, and a 78", and we ended up using the 76" belt. It was a '89 GT 5.0 HO, power everything.

anyone know a length for bypassing the smog and a FRPP a/c delete (moves p/s pump up) and UD Pullies? I know the string trick, but i'll be doing it 1h from the nearest part store.... Even a ballpark # would help so i can grab a few belts before i do this

Since I've never had U/D pullies, this could be way off, but I would think that to spin a shaft less (under drive it) you would need a larger diameter pulley. This means I would start with 73.5 and work my way up if I were you.

hmmm i always thought UD's were smaller but now that i actually think about it you might be right! but i thought a smaller diameter pulley would spin the shaft slower? can someone clear this up? maybe it's just my stupidity but i'd like to know before i do the work!
