What size drag radials on 10 hole wheels

I am going to be using 15x7 10 hole aluminum wheels. I am looking at Mickey Thompson's new ET Street radials. 235/60/15 OR 275/50/15......I know the 275's are technically too big for the wheel, but I'm wondering if anyone else has that size on the 15x7 wheels?

235s would probably be better..I guess those tires hook better than bfgs

I have the 275/50/15 BFG DR's on 10 holes. They are a bit wide but hook up pretty good. Probably the 235 /60R15 would be better.

My car came with Hoosier 275 60's on 10 holes. I am changing to centreline auto drags with 225 and 245's rear. Many people say that 275's are too wide on 7" but there was never any problems and as for tire wear they are even and lasted ok.

275/60/15 fits a LOT different than 275/50/15 though.

Maverick0716, Go for the 235/60 MT Et Street if you are using the 10-holes. The new MT tires would bee a good tire for you! My -86 runs fine with that tiresize. With my stock engine (approx. 230fwHP), I ran easely low1.90s 60ft. and the best ET after mods are with the 235s...
Now I am running the wider RH Racemaster 275/50-15 DOT tires mounted on 9" Welds. Used this tire on the 10 holes first, but they were so unstable in speeds over 60Mph
when I run low tirepressure ( 12-15psi) scarry..
Use a tire whos gives you the grip you need, not wider than that. (rolling resistance, rubbing problems etc.)

Yeah, I think I'm gonna go with the 235. The whole reason I'm getting them is for track use only, and so I can actually get traction when I get my heads and cam in. I was considering getting the ET streets (bias ply) but then these radials came out and I like the Idea of the rigidity of them and the less rolling resistant.....and they're not made for tubes.

275/50/15's is exactly what I run on my 89 and it works great and fits fine but i have no quad shocks, propelled me down the 1/4 to the tune of 10.95 @ 124

I'm gonna try to run the 275/50/15 on mine. The last time I was there talking to guy who owns the place I get my tires done he kept saying it was to much tire for the rim.... anyone else agree with him are can it be done?

I guess I could go with a 235/60/15, a friend had a set of those on a 55' chevy and they did not fit in the fenders good. He had rubbing, they are very tall tire from what I saw on his car.

From what I saw it looked close to 29". But thats just looking and not paying to much attention to it. Had alot sidewall to it also.

I have 275-50-15 BFG Drag Radials on 10 holes on the back of my 82. It does not have quad shocks but it has Lakewood traction bars, etc.

I have 1/2 a coil cut out of the springs, also. It seemed to rub the outer fender lip on the pass side at launch, so I added a right side air bag and rolled the fender lip up.

The seem to fit the rims fine and hook up like gangbusters. One of the best mods on the whole car.

275/50/15 and 235/60/15 are the exact same height, just different width. I actually work at a tire shop and I know the 275 is technically too wide for a 15x7 wheel but it WILL mount on the wheel.....I was just wondering if people using the 275/50/15 were getting good traction, and even tire wear. I'm deciding on going with the 235/60/15.....its even the same part number as the 26x10.5-15 but with an "R" (for radial) at the end of the number.

Yes, they work fine on the 15x7 rim.
