I changed my whole engine set up and need some input on tire size and rear gear.

My car is a 95 mustang 3000 lbs. with driver 364 CI, AFR 205, big solid cam and spinning to 7,500 rpm and iam running a 9" percision industries 3800 stall. I am hoping to make 500 rwhp and spray the car with 250+ soon

Right now i have a 26" X 10.5" MT ET street. and a 3.73 gear.

I need new tires any way. I want to run ET drags anyway so should i step up to a 28"X 10.5 et drag and what gear would look good.

Thanks Brandon.

i would go with the 28" tire and step up to 4.10's or 4.30's, are you driving the car on the street at all.

Brandon, can you get the car out with the 26" tires to see where you cross at?

I would go 28" if you can to help with the massive tire shock that you will have, it will require more gear however. You also need to plan on the spray it will great effect the gear ratio. I am thinking a 28" tire and a 3.90-4:10 may get you there.

Percision may be able to help you based on that slippage and specs of the converter

Seems like most guys at the track with 28's runs 4.10's, but with that much rpm available a 4.30 would prolly do you a little better......
