The last couple times I have been on a high speed "flyway" interstate ramp I'll be driving around the curve and all of a sudden my car starts to drift out of the turn as if I cut the wheel that way...I take my foot off the accelerator and give it minor break and it goes away. I should add that this is moderate speed, not "pushing it". Also, when steering at slow speeds, there has been a lot of knocking coming from up front, not sure if this is related though. This is scarry.

Does this happen also while going straight down the road?

Does the car try to turn the steering wheel?

good questions...
No it doesn't happen while going straight and this is what's wierd, the steering wheel doesn't not pull like with bump steer, it just starts to float out. The feeling is like when you hydroplane and just can't control the vehicle..

Check your lug nuts to make sure they are tight. I had a similar problem like that and when I went to lift the car up to look, the wheel was loose. Lift it and check them.....Just my .02

Check the rag joint in the engine bay. It may have weakened if you have headers or anything real hot next to it.

as far as axe (axle?) bushings go...yep.

I'll check the rag joint..could that be causing all the knocking and clicking I've been hearing? I was wondering it there was maybe a tooth in the rack ground down but I don't really know what the insides look like..
