What is it?

How do i do it?

How much it Cost?

How much does a shop charge for it?

What parts do i need?

basically i need someone to explain a port n polish to a retard... i heard you can get really good gains out of doing it.

This is when you take material out of the intake runners to make them larger to flow more air. Once you grind the material out you then polish up the surface so that the air flows through as smooth as possible. The cost varies depending what heads your having done, how much you want taken out, and how much the shop charges per hour. the only parts you need are the heads.

The gain is that the engine doesnhave to work as hard to suck the air through the tiny runners and they can pull more in. Add a little more fuel, more air + more fuel = more power.

Depending on what you want done to them it could cost probably a minimum of $400. it's just hard for me to estimate a job like this becasue I've never paid to have it done.

Put it this way. I had a friend that had his 302 heads done for $250 but it was a low rent shop and he got low rent work. So he took his other set of heads to a performance shop and they did a fantastic job and gave him a printout of before and after flowbench tests so that he could see the gain in airflow. That job cost him $800.

The bottom line is just call some reputable shops in your area and ask them for an estimate on the job.
