What tire and wheels sizes for a little big setup on my 97GT?

I want to get some pro stars or race stars but don't know what size or backspacing I should get and what tires I should run. I'd like as big as I can get on the rear. But my car is lowered an inch and a half so I'm not sure what will fit without problems. Any help?

Wheels:

17 x 9 +24mm offset
17 x 10.5 +27mm offset
18 x 9 +24mm offset
18 x 10 +22mm offset

I have 17" FR500 and that's my offsets. My rear 1o.5" wheels and 315/35 - 17s fit perfectly. My car is lowered also. I run Nitto 555R (DR).

I have 17x9 cobra r's on now with 245' in front and 285's on the back but I want the drag setup now. I just got a 5inch cowl and want to throw 15x8's or 10's on the back and skinnies on the front. I'm liking the race stars right now. They have a 17x4.5 for the fronts which I think would look pretty tough with some fat tires on 15's for the back.

Im running a 275/60/15 on the back to gear my car down a little bit, and my car is slammed! cant tell you how low but probably lower then yours.

And to answer your question i have a 15x8 with 5.5 inch backspacing on the rear, but i believe a 94-98 can clear a 15x8 with a 4.5 inch backspacing, if i were to do it again id go 15x10 with 6.5 inch backspacing

Yeah your car looks good. I'd like it to fill out the wheel well like that. Hopefully the 94-98's got the same amount of room. Anyone out there know?

yea same amount of room on the 94-98's, 275/60's fill the wheel wells in perfect.

Looks real good! Perfect for want I'd want. Would like the 15x10's too but don't want to be spending so much for the bigger tires. I go through them pretty fast. Any brake clearance issues? Did you have to put spacers for your fronts? And what size tires are you running on them?

If your planning on going with a 275/60x15, that tire can fit a 15x10 perfect, no need for a bigger tire then that, and as long as you have stock GT brakes you can fit the fronts without spacers. 165/80/15 Nexen sb802 is your best tire for the front for street use. Ride great and wear great.

can u tell me your whole setup on rims? looks awesome? any reason you did go wider in rear? Any help would be great, thanks

haha yea i have some good videos of me putting spanking's on cars that make way more power then i did! GTO's, 05+ GT' on a 125 shot, a few 03/04 cobra's too
