what to do with $3500

what should i get with $3500???? ive decided to save up the amount and buy engine parts. all motor, so SC and turbos are out of the question. and no nitrous. but yeah, i wanted to get the TFS track heat kit, but its a top end kit. i want something thatll smash me against the seat. any good combos, plz tell me. THANKS!! (looking to get over 320hp btw)

If I was in your position, I would get the new 302BOSS block, and get it stroked to 347 build it to be 8 to 1 or so, with whatever crazy heads you want and cam. That way in a year you can get a new trans and cluth setup and so on. Then when you do want to add a blower or something you car is ready, If not you have a nice drivetrain setup

lol, i know 320 wont slam me into the seat, but thats the min. i want. and swapping is out of the ? too. i want to work with my current block. any serious advice? even though i am considering the 175 lap dances. :nice: lol

TFS or cobra top end with a shot of the juice is the easiest way to get to 320.

other than that you are looking at a stroker build which after all the supporting mods it will need will put you over your budget.

i mean, i know the tfs street heat can give me around 340 maybe 350 if i get it tweaked right. i wanted to go to 306, and i can get it bored 30 over for 20 bucks a hole. but then im going to need the pistons, rods, etc. too much $$$ for now. but the cobra top end with the gt40x heads has the e303. not a big fan of it. its too played out. i know the tfs stage is too, but idk, i just dont like the E that much. if it had an F then maybe i would go for it, but id rahter stick with TFS

340-350 flywheel maybe. even with a good tune you will be doing well to push a TFS kit past 300hp on a stock block.
do some more reading on here and over at corral on the TFS kits before you get your hopes up about huge hp gains. most of the ones I have seen on a stock bottom end without a power adder are running in the 280whp range.

oohh damn. ok. another idea i had, was to make my engine a sleeper. make it look stock, but have some ridiculous porting and polishing. stock intake, and heads....well maybe not heads, ill probably go for gt40p heads and do crazy work on them. and stuff like that. You know, make it look stock to the naked eye. but under that sheeps skin, is a ferocious wolf with rabies waiting to eat a small baby. you think thats possible with stock components???

I know there's a guy with a TF Kit but he upgraded to the next step up in the cam, is making 312 I want to say.

Or you can look into Anderford Motorsport. They did a combo that netted them 321, however there are two stages of the package, I figure you can peice together what you don't have with package 1, and then buy package two. Just a thought.

Here's the link and they also did a couple of pages Februay's 5.0 Magazine:

Check out http://www.hunterstyle.com/thumper/combos.php

This should give you some information if you're wanting to keep a stock-ish look under the hood.

im 16, im not worried about that yet, i dont even have a full time job yet. I have prepaid college, so i dont have to worry about those funds. But i was looking at the thumper head and cma combo 1, and seems good to me. ill order it with the swirl cut and gt40 valves. With that cam and heads, you think 1.7 are too much? and do you think porting my stock intake will be a good idea? i need all the advice and preps for this as i can get.

I am happy with my thumper combo, I am making 360rwhp and 400 trq to the wheels with my combo. Don't bother with the stock intake, do an aftermarket one, a few other mods and some gears you can have a excellent running car.

You 5 speed or auto?

nah, like i said, no n2o, no swap and no forced induction. straight up all motor for me. and besides, i think i know what im going to do. If i hit mid to low 12's, ill be EXTREMELY happy lol. Lets just see what happens.
