yeah i get you but the thing right now is im stuck between the engine work, or investing in a 64 pontiac le mans ( fair conditions). or a 71 ford ltd 429 ( good conditions).

Yea ok, whats a huge shot to you? 100 or something? Building the bottom end in a stock block car is the dumbest thing you can do.

honestly I took a ride the other day in a 95 vert that had a bone stock motor and about 4 grand in suspension mods. the car handled like a go-kart and cornered like it was on rails. mebbe keep the explorer intake, port the stock heads or move up to gt40's. with the right cam that will get you about 270-80 and pour the rest into the suspension.
there are a bunch of panoz cars out there running gt40 motors and their owners swear by them.

I am just wondering what all the anti-blower attitude is about?

you can do a hci for real cheap, explorer intake manifolds, thumper heads, and a cam of some letter by ford racing shouldnt be too much. heads 200, cam 170, thats 370 and all you need is the intake manifolds, then bigger injectors, ect, explorer bigger tb, and maf. then the suspension,. thats what i would do. i just got my c springs on my car that has full length subframes and tokico shocks and struts and i love it to death.

for allot of motor, weld your torque boxes, better control arms, then do like afr 165's, a track heat intake, and a custom cam maybe? amf power pipe, big maf and tb, 19lb'ers, gears, ect.

Just get the TFS top end kit man. You aren't going to get more than 300-310 at the wheels on your stock bottom end because you can't put a crazy enough cam in with the stock valve clearance and you don't have very high compression. If you got a new bottom end along with the top end kit, you could possibly get another 20 MAYBE 30 whp with 11:1 compression and a big cam. Don't forget, to even get 300whp with that top end kit you are gonna need all the other bolt ons like full exhaust, throttle body, injectors, fuel pump, MAF, ETC ETC. If you want more than 300-310 with the stock bottom end, you are going to need nitrous a turbo and a supercharger.

300whp isn't easy to achieve unless you calculate horsepower like a ricer!

I kinda prefer the way the powerband of my N/A car feels compared to any of the blower cars I've ever been in. I've never owned one, but driven a 440whp Cobra and a 560whp Cobra. They feel fast but...I dunno...kinda boring. I do like the blower whine however. I should get a loud speaker in my engine bay to simulate that while I'm at WOT

naah, just do a crappy stereo install, the speakers will pick up the hum from your alternator. my first beater truck had that going on and I had one guy ride in the car and he was all "man that exhaust is bad ass"

Might have to get a Dart block but don't want to and if I do, then 363 instead of 331. Thoughts on what I've already bought so far.......
