I have a chance to pick up a T top notch. it has no motor and no trans. The body is good but the interior is kinda rough! I feel i can get it for a hella of a deal. Now would you buy that and swap over all my stuff to it or would you use the money on a turbo or cam and piston swap? Here is a few pics of the notch

peace

Buy it. /thread

T-Top notch is my dream coupe. I think a lot of guys on here would agree that those are rare in good/decent condition. Pick it up, even if you stash it in storage for a while until you can get to it. That's what I'm going to do if one EVER pops up in NY state that doesn't look like it got shot with a Tommy gun during hurricane katrina.

If you have a money tree growing in your backyard go for it. You have a nice notch as it is right now so i would keep that if i were you.Like S&B said 8k later......

My 2 cents.

once you get the whole car taken appart you will see how much rust you have to work with, just sitting in a barn you dont know about 0 rust. then you need to take the whole car appart, just the new weather stripping and plastic pieces are around 800 bucks.
I had a guy paint the car, and I baught an areo car to get the bumpers and engine and such. If you can do your own body work and pick some cheap ass color then you can do if for probably half of what i have into mine, but If your going to do something you might as well do it right (like the cam in your engine) you kick you self years later.
I do have a progress thread, but i have not updated in a while. Building a car right is costly and time consuming and frustraiting, if you have alot going on in your life you'll never get it done.
Just getting the k member PS and braking together up front correctly was 1k, that was just the parts I put it all together after that.

very nice car though, I would just buy it to own it and tuck it away somewhere, but if you cant afford just to buy it and barn it like the last guy its going to be way to costl for you.

to bat turbo fox didnt wait a year or he would be able to buy this one and save him some time

I think you should buy it and trade me out for my 93. I would trade it for that car in that condition. My enjoyment is in the building, not the driving.

please!

if i do get it i will resto it back to stock, and with a stock engine. This one wont go modded cause i will have my ssp thats modded plus my 4banger thats modded! I think i might look into buying the turbo from the sale of the car i'm picking up adn fixing and then also MAYBE pick this t top up. Ot will be a long long project tho. peace

I would sink the money into the car you have now , it's already a great build. If anything if you could score it for cheap I would start a second low budget build.

I dont care what the F you do with it just buy it so it doesnt just sit there and rot away!!!

Also dont convert it to aero nose

Just go buy it already!!

EDIT: The more I look at that car the more I love it. I am digging that paint job and the capri taillights! Even the turbines! I would restore it to the setup it currently has, just with some 87+ porno red seats and maybe an 85 GT dash panel to replace the woodgrain it likely has...

laying on your back is fine for simple basic things like an oil change...but anything else forget it, NOTHING beats having a lift...in fact some oil changes even suck to do without a lift!

I just had a nitrious kit (value at $1500) and a set of slicks offered to me for $500 for both so i wanna pick that up. The t top isnt going anywhere as far as i know so i feel i have a little time on it? peace

Actually John, I believe a few others "have" been looking at it.....cause I think I know where it's at. And I tried to search for Mongoose, and nothing comes up, can you get hold of him and have him PM me?
