whats right??

i do know one thing though.if we dont get a handle on the fuelprices everything is going to go up.the price of fuel dictates the charge of goods to be hauled from east to west.the higher the fuel, eventually the higher the price of goods.i hauled a load of flowers fromhalf moon bay calif.to atlanta ga.last year it payed around 4500.00 to the truck which was around 1600.00 in fuel, 2000.00 to truck and 900.00 to the driver before taxes.this year the same freight was 7500.00 with almost 3000.00 in fuel.now the driver still gets his 900.00 which leaves the truck with what 1300.00 or so. this is why the owner ops. are going out of buisness.if you are a big comp. like werner or jb hunt you get a huge fuel discount, not to mention the driver is not compensated nowhere near as well.any man who climbs up in a truck and stays away for that long from his family and has the lives of all the motorist in his hands with 80,000 pounds of truck under him or her deserves no less than 100.00 per day to climb up in a truck.
