Whats the best gear ratio for a 97 cobra ?

...And who's turning their street Cobra to 8,000 rpm's?

98V6, 4.30's are a great Cobra street gear. 70-75mph on the freeway is in the 3,100 range. It is buzzing it a bit, but not bad. This engine can spin.

If you want to feel what 4.56's would be like on the freeway, go out with your stock gears & leave it in 4th. That's a close approximation to 5th with 4.56's. They're one step too much for me, but maybe they won't be for you.

But if you have 4.10's for free, it's hard to argue with the cost. In that case, I would go with those over the 3.55's or 3.73's.

4.56 or 4.88 especially with cams, head porting, headers, and rods. 8000+ needs 4.88.

for a all out race car he is right with the gearing he recomends. but for a street car even 4.56's are tough on the highway.

4.10's I had 3.73 good gear but now that I think about I wish I would of put 4.10's in
