Whats The Cause Of The Stock 302 Block Cracking?

Too much BS for me in this thread. The reason stock blocks crack at "500hp" is because people were pushing them to the limits back we were barely above carburetors and vacuum retard distributors. It got a reputation back when nobody understood a thing about tuning. My last 347 stroker went nearly 85,000 miles with almost 700 ft/lb torque. There are now multiple participants pushing nearly 1000 ft/lb of torque through 30+ year old factory blocks through 2 race seasons.

What was the BS?

I knew a guy in Columbus, GA making over 1000 rwhp on a turbo'd stock block with forged internals back in '05-'06 tuned by Tim Lynch. It went 8s and impressed everyone for a while. He blew it up and he threatened to sue over it while the rest of us just shook our heads. It's not all in the tune, and if I were tuning for money, I'd've turned him away.

The only dyno of yours I could find showed 489 rwhp and stopped at about 6k. Mind sharing more info about the build, balance, how hard you were on it, etc...?
