When adding a blower, which compression ratio would be the best overall for a daily driver and weekend track car?

Im trying to decide on which ratio to tell my engine builder, im leaning towards 8.8:1 for a s trim with the smaller pulley.. Whatta ya guys think?

8.5 i hear is the ideal compression ratio. But i think that your 8.8 would work too. i dont think that i would touch much over 9.0 if you dont have to.

9.0:1 or lower is safe and easy for a street/strip car. You can run higher of cousre, depending on timing (hella retarded) and fuel used (i.e. race gas). A friend and I built up/turboed a Integra GSR motor, it runs about 13.5:1 c/r with 20 lbs of boost, we retarded the timing about 23 degress via boost timing controller, and run 93 octance. We still gotta work out the AFR though. Hopfully we don't **** up, denotation and this engine is toast.

I really like my 331. with my setup, it pulls real hard. well, when it wants to and is running right. it needs to be tuned really, really bad. Also, make sure you get some traction invested into this project. you can have all the power in the world, but your just gonna go up in smoke. dont beleive me, i got time slips with 2.2 60's all over the place. with a 1.8 60', i would almost cut a second off my time. that makes me sad.....

You can go up to 9.5:1 and have no issues at all, unless you are planning on a lot of boost there is no need for 8.5:1.

im looking to put about 12-15 psi as of right now, non-intercooled but will eventually get an aircooler for my s trim.. But I did set my 331 stroker for a 8.8:1 compression ratio due to the fact that i want to be able to put alot of boost in this engine and still run strong without the supercharger... Do you think with that compression my low end will drag alittle even with the supercharger? How about if i took off my supercharger, will the n/a 331 with the 8.8 compression be a complete dissapointment?

Compression will be fine with the low end...

I ran 8.8:1 with my 302ci NA motor (thick gaskets, notched pistons) and had no issues going 11.80's @ 116 all motor.
