Whats up with these roller rockers, input needed

Ok guys I bought these 1.6 roller rockers off of ebay. The cam im going with has pretty good lift so Im switching from 1.7's to 1.6 This is my first set of 1.6's why are they not centered over the valves like the 1.7s They look like they'll bend the valve over rather than push them down, is it me?

One thing I'd like to add is that the 1.6 are 7/16 stud, I have 3/8 stud, which i can fix that but that won't change the position of the rocker on the valve stem. What gives?

Push rods are the wrong length. You need to get a push rod length checker then color in the top of the valve with a marker. Now tighten the rocker down and turn the crank until that valve cycles. You will see the path the roller took in the marker and it should be centered and even, left to right. Adjust the push rod length until it is even and centered.
 
His head isn't even on the motor so you won't really know untill you get the pushrod in there and adjust your preload. But the rocker is definitely sitting too low. Once you get the head installed you will have a better picture so don't freak out just yet. BUT if your geometry is just right with the 1.7's you may need a longer pushrod with the 1.6 to keep it on the center of the valve tip.

Push the back of the rocker up to where it will be with a pushrod in there and it should cover the valve tip a lot more, but as was said this will be determined by the pushrod length and you should check the geometry with the new rockers, it shouldn't need much if any adjustment, but everything have different tolerances so you can never assume it'll be OK.
